What is 5-MAPB POWDER?
5-MAPB is a chemical offered for sale as a research chemical. If we look at the structure of the substance, we see that it is very similar to MDMA. However, 5-MAPB has a so-called benzofuran ring structure, and this makes 5MAPB a ‘benzofuran’. This synthetic family is best known for its high-profile Benzo Fury, i.e 6-APB. Due to this small adjustment compared to MDMA, 5 APB has a slightly different duration of action, effect and experience.
How does 5-MAPB compare to 6-APB?
You now know that 5-MAPB powder and 6-APB both resemble MDMA and both belong to the Benzofuran group. But what is the difference between the two? To start with, the difference between both substances and MDMA is that Benzofuran is sometimes more psychedelic in effect than MDMA. Both visually and sensorially, the Benzofuran can be somewhat more intense than, for example, ecstasy. The 6-APB experience is then described visually and psychedelicly as more intense than 5MAPB, where 5 MAPB actually evokes more feelings of connection and social warmth. The high of 5 MAPB powder also seems to last shorter than that of 6APB.

How does 5 MAPB work?
Similar to MDMA, 5MAPB also works on serotonin receptors, in combination with dopamine and norepinephrine receptors. This creates the feeling of happiness, energy and the great need to dance or be together. Due to the benzofuran structure, these effects last a little longer than with MDMA, but less demand is placed on the serotonin supply. The feelings of happiness are therefore somewhat less strong than with its sister ecstasy.
What are the effects of 5MAPB?
Just to be clear, these are the effects you can expect from 5-MAPB :
Physically
- A faster heart rate and/or increased blood pressure
- Higher body temperature and sweating
- Grinding your teeth/experiencing tension in the jaws
- Sometimes you experience nausea or abdominal pain, usually at the onset of the 5-MAPB experience
Mentally
- Feelings of (intense) happiness and joy
- Want to socialize/experience deep connection with others
- Environment feels more intense
- Visual distortions or mild hallucinations (especially at high doses)
- More intense perception (music, colors and touch become more intense)
- More energy and desire to move or dance
It is also good to know that 5MAPB can cause a come-down effect when it wears off. This means that you may feel tired, lethargic or even a little down.
How long does 5-MAPB last?
When you investigate 5-MAPB , you will feel the first effects after half an hour to an hour. The peak of the 5-MAPB experience lasts about 2-3 hours, after which the effects slowly diminish. The substance wears off after 4 to 8 hours, although you may still experience some after-effects.
